University of California campaign

UAEM is making a special effort to engage the University of California and encourage them to practice global access licensing for all new medical technologies. Due to the structure of the U.C. system, UAEM chapters are working both on the U.C system as a whole while simultaneously working to change licensing policies on each individual campus. [Read More]

Canadian legislation

The Bayh-Dole Act (USA, 1980) governs the patenting and licensing of publicly funded research in the USA. It has a mixed record despite strong positive rhetoric. Similar Acts are now being developed in both India and South Africa. UAEM has analyzed the development of these new Acts. [Read More]
